Friendly vs Brackaville
The minors played Brackaville in a friendly at Annagher on Thursday night last and after a tough contest the spoils were shared on the scoreline of 1-07 apiece.
The blues started in determined fashion and playing against a strong breeze dominated possession in every sector. Whilst shooting was not easy on the night the lads should have been more than 0-03 to no score in front after fifiteen minutes. Brackaville slowly edged their way into the game and with five minutes to go in the half had drawn level thanks to some strong running from defence. They took the lead from a defensive mix-up with a goal and tagged on a further point to lead by four at the break.
Unfortunately for the young blues Brackaville started the second half as they had ended the first. They quickly added another point and it was only the width of the crossbar that denied them on two occasions. These misses were to prove costly as with ten minutes to go a goal from T. Hampsey and points from N. Graham and M. Hamilton drew the sides level. Brackaville attacked again to take the lead with a point but it was that man Graham again who came to the rescue and secure a draw.
With the league commencing on Sunday 28th March with a trip to neighbours Clonoe the lads know that a vast improvement is required in all areas.
The club would like to thank Brackaville for the game and Cathal O'Hagan for officiating.

Ulster Minor 7's Competition
14th March 2010 Augher.
The minors played in the Augher St Macartan's Ulster Sevens today 14th March 2010. Teams included Burren, Scotstown, Killeavy, Creggan as well as teams from within Tyrone. We were part of Group B which consisted of Augher, Eglish & Creggan. Got off to a great start defeating Augher and were lucky to beat Eglish in game two with the aid of a fortunate goal at the death. Other results meant that those two wins qualified us for the semis but we beat Creggan in our final game to top the group.
Played local neighbours Clonoe in the semi and in an entertaining contest it took a last gasp point from Clonoe to force extra time. In the second period of extra time a Clonoe goal sealed victory as the young blues came up just short.
Good effort by the lads and should help morale for the upcoming league fixtures.
The squad were : Jason Carberry, Sean Campbell, Tiarnan Hampsey, Michael Hampsey, Mark Hamilton, Niall Graham, Shea Rankin, Dara Skeffington, Daniel Higgins, Niall O'Neill & Dan Fee.
